Synopsis
CIA agent Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped produce a more authentic execution of weapons handling, house cleaning, positioning, squad activities, etc. I was compelled to write a review because the writing, acting, and action are so good! I’m a critic and movie/series watcher who approaches things from the “glass half-glass theory.” Meaning I look at the positives first, then the negatives. I either love it or I don’t.
Great acting, dialogue, action!
There’s always a middle ground too. “Lioness” isn’t just far from average, it has it all! Zoe Saldana is sexy and beautiful and just like her boss played by Nicole Kidman, they are both badass women in the US espionage and military. Both are America’s defense against global terrorism. What is also helpful for the viewer is that even though this is a cable TV series (Paramount), they have a big budget for the movie.
Both were top notch
The production team does not waste their budget, it is a streamlined, practical and flawless production. As I mentioned in the title, it has all the excitement of “24” and “Columbiana”! Remember the TV series and the movie? I don’t mind family issues and teen drama. As a parent, I get it.
It works well for me
I keep thinking that the terrorists are going to go after Joe’s (Zoe Saldana) family. (I hope not, but I could see that happening) Obviously, I haven’t finished the series yet. And I don’t need too much to write this review. “Lioness” is so good and I highly recommend it. This is one of the first reviews I’ve done that I have no problem with the content.
My other reviews of past classics and well-made movies/TV series are obvious
I haven’t checked but I really want a second season for the “Lioness”!!!
